The Sanctuary – The Hills Women’s Shelter

The Sanctuary is a shelter in the Hills District that provides short term crisis management accommodation for women and children who are homeless or are fleeing family or domestic violence situations. They are provided with around-the-clock care and support, as they heal and embark on a new start in life.
Over the past decade, hundreds of families have passed through the doors of the six-bedroom home, working with specially trained case workers to restart and rebuild, often from the ground up.
The Sanctuary is the only service of its kind in the Hills District and requires significant funding to operate each year, given the level of constant support needed for their clients.
Bankstown Sports Group is proud to support The Sanctuary with $15,000 of funding to cover some operational expenses such as utilities, insurance, cleaning and IT services, as well as ensuring they can retain their experienced staff.
