At Bankstown Sports Club, we utilise the ClubGRANTS program to facilitate the grant process. We organise independent Bankstown Sports grant rounds and take part in local ClubGRANTS rounds in the following local government areas: Canterbury-Bankstown, Cumberland and Hills Shire.

ClubGRANTS is designed to ensure that larger clubs in NSW are contributing to the provision of front-line services to their local communities and to ensure that those who are disadvantaged in the local community are provided better opportunity to benefit from grants made by local Clubs. Under the Gaming Machine Tax Act 2001, a distinction is made between the three classes of expenditure:

  • Category 1: Expenditure on specific community welfare and social services, community development, community health services & employment assistance activities.
  • Category 2: Expenditure on other community development and support services
  • Category 3: Contributions by Clubs to the ClubGRANTS Fund.

Bankstown Sports is committed to providing ongoing support and assistance to our local community, we are proud to have contributed to the success of many community based project and initiatives over the years.

We are dedicated to continuing this work to help sporting clubs and other community organisations to achieve their goals.

COMMUNITY NEWS

ABOUT
US

Bankstown Sports Club is a sport and community focused not-for-profit organisation, based in the heart of Sydney’s southwest.

From humble beginnings in a small church hall in 1958, where several local sporting groups gathered to trade ideas and provide updates on their sporting achievements, our organisation has grown to be one of the leading hospitality venues in the country, supporting 43 sporting clubs and more than 100 community organisations.

OUR WHY

Our club was created by the local community, for the local community.

Our mission is to ‘Make A Difference’ and our purpose is to support and encourage the community to be the best it can be. Using this as our guide, we have dedicated the past six decades to fostering grassroots sport, providing financial and in-kind support to local community organisations, and giving volunteers a platform to dedicate their time and skills to helping others.

Our club strives to assist those in need in times of crisis, it provides a safe space for the vulnerable and less fortunate, and it gives everyone in the local community – of any age, race, and gender – the opportunity to participate in sport and feel part of something meaningful.

Our Board of Directors have deep roots in the community, whether it be through individual sporting teams, community and charity organisations, or businesses that service the local area. Their focus is to utilise the club’s facilities, network and resources, to enable the best possible outcomes for our associated organisations.
