BLOG, COMMUNITY NEWS | 18 Sep 2025 |

Bankstown Sports Group is proud to continue its commitment to strengthening our community through the 2024–2025 ClubGRANTS program. This year, the club has provided more than $1 million in funding across three Local Government Areas, supporting over 50 local organisations that are making a real difference in people’s lives.

From healthcare and youth development to food security and social support, these grants are helping to create lasting impact across a wide range of community needs:

Youth Programs – More than $100,000 has been invested into projects supporting young people across our region.

Healthcare – Over $200,000 was directed to Bankstown-Lidcombe Hospital to fund the upskilling of nurses and allied health professionals, the purchase of an ultrasound machine for prostate cancer diagnosis, and programs supporting those living with dementia.

Community Centres & Support Services – More than $100,000 has been granted to community centres for youth initiatives, domestic violence support, and therapeutic services.

Food Security – Over $48,000 has been dedicated to projects tackling food insecurity for local youth and disadvantaged.

In addition to these broad initiatives, Bankstown Sports Group has proudly supported a number of targeted projects delivering immediate and practical assistance:

777 Movement Ltd – Received over $54,000 for their new Homeless to Home program in Canterbury-Bankstown, helping rough sleepers and people experiencing homelessness access temporary housing, permanent accommodation, employment opportunities, and mental health support.

The Salvation Army Villawood Hub – Awarded $17,000 to enhance facilities and services, encouraging stronger community engagement and connection.

Humanity Matters Inc – Granted $40,000 for their Supported and Empowered project, which provides subsidies for psychological assessments for children and young people whose families are unable to afford them, ensuring they receive the diagnoses and support they need.

St Francis Social Services (House of Welcome Catering) – Supported with over $12,600 for their Empowering People Seeking Asylum and Refugees project, which offers training and employment pathways through their HW Catering social enterprise.Through ClubGRANTS, Bankstown Sports Group reaffirms its mission to support those who support the community. These organisations continue to create positive change for people in need, and the Bankstown Sports Group and Bankstown Sports Board of Directors are extremely proud to partner with such wonderful community groups.
