The 2023-2024 ClubGRANTS year has come to an end with Bankstown Sports Group providing over $1.2 million in funding to various community organisations and programs doing amazing work across the Bankstown, Hills Shire and Cumberland local government areas.
With that we reflect on the support provided to our everyday heroes and the community groups that are working hard to support some of the most vulnerable in our community.
Notably, Bankstown Sports Group have collectively provided over $250,000 to organisations working at the coalface in addressing domestic violence. Some examples of this include:
Additionally, the Group has provided $60,000 to ten local sporting organisations for publicly accessible defibrillators installed at their sporting club venues to be used in the case of emergency cardiac arrest incidents.
$100,000 was provided to Bankstown City Aged Care to provide various programs and initiatives to residents with Dementia. In addition to this, a further $13,000 was provided to Canterbury-Bankstown Dementia Alliance to deliver a community exhibition for families who are supporting someone with dementia within our community.
Over $100,000 was provided to multiple organisations working in the mental health space, ranging from support programs, mental health forum events, and mental health programs delivered in local schools.
$16,000 was provided to the Eat Up Foundation, who provide schools with lunches for children who turn up to school without food of their own or money to buy anything from the canteen.
Over $60,000 was provided to organisations for programs, services and initiatives dedicated to supporting people with a disability.
