During Mental Health Month in October, Bankstown Sports proudly hosted the Walk, Talk and Connect Community Walk, encouraging members of the community to connect, engage and enjoy some physical activity.
Reflecting this year’s Mental Health Month theme, ‘A Little Connection Goes a Long Way’, the event provided a meaningful opportunity to promote connection, wellbeing and the importance of supporting one another.
Almost 50 participants, including Bankstown Sports staff and representatives from community organisations, joined the walk around Memorial Oval and the surrounding parklands in Bankstown, followed by a complimentary BBQ.
Lifeline Macarthur and Western Sydney CEO, Veronica Macdonald, also addressed the crowd, highlighting the importance of checking in with one another and reaching out for help when needed.
Bankstown Sports thanks everyone who participated and encourages the community to continue checking in with friends and loved ones to ensure everyone feels supported, connected and valued.
