BANKSTOWN SPORTS SUPPORTS LOCAL NURSES

communitynews | 23 Aug 2023 |

Making a difference in our community is what Bankstown Sports strives to do every day. Whether it be within the walls of our club, through our associated sporting clubs and charity partners, or when the need arises in the wider community.

Every year, we celebrate the hard work and dedication of the wonderful nurses and midwives at Bankstown-Lidcombe Hospital, with a round of ClubGRANTS funding for training and education scholarships.

These courses support the staff to grow their professional development and learn new skills to better support patients in the local community.

Some of the programs include:

  • Masters in Nurse Practitioner Course
  • Certificate 4 in Training & Assessment
  • Graduate Certificate in Stomal Nursing
  • Master of Leadership (Health & Human Services)
  • Ultrasound in Vascular Access Course (PICC Line Training)
  • Immunisation for Health Practitioners
  • Graduate Certificate in Nursing (Specialisation) Clinical Nursing and Teaching Stream
  • Master of Clinical Nursing

In 2022, Bankstown Sports committed $50,000 to the program which will benefit over 30 individuals, with the recipients announced at a special ceremony on International Nurses Day.

The wonderful relationship between Bankstown Sports and Bankstown-Lidcombe Hospital has been in place for 18 years, and we hope it continues for many years to come.
