Eat Up is Australia’s only organisation providing free lunches to kids who go to school without food. To date, they have provided over 5 million lunches to students in need.

With the help of their partners and dedicated volunteers, Eat Up makes and delivers over 40,000 lunches directly to schools.

In October 2024, Bankstown Sports partnered with Eat Up to support their work in our local community. Our region is on the lower end of the socioeconomic spectrum, and we know families have really been doing it tough in the current cost of living crisis.

Between October and December 2024, Eat Up was the charity of choice at our Point-of-Sale donation boxes, and our members generously donated over $1,200.

In November 2024, we launched a campaign to coincide with National Sandwich Day on 3 November, pledging to donate $1 for every sandwich sold at our venues through the entire month of November. There were 2,000 sandwiches sold = $2,000!

Our staff then got involved in a Sandwich Making Challenge, volunteering their time to make 1,000 sandwiches in 1 hour. Our incredible team smashed that target in less than 30 minutes! The event was such a success, our team did it again in February 2025.

In addition to the above, Bankstown Sports supported Eat Up with a $16,474 grant in the 2023-24 ClubGRANTS round. This funding allowed Eat Up to take on additional schools, providing free lunches to students in 22 high-needs schools in the Canterbury Bankstown area.

Our partnership with Eat Up was recognised at the 2025 Clubs & Community Awards in the Healthcare category, acknowledging our support for learning, education and vocational training, to enhance the lives of those living in our community.

Bankstown Sports is proud to have increased our financial contribution to Eat Up in the 2025-26 grant round, to over $25,000.
