Welcome to Bankstown Sports

Bankstown Sports Club was founded in 1958 by a group of sport representatives who wanted to create a communal meeting place for the various sports in the local community. 2018 represents the 60th Anniversary for the club.

Over the years, it has grown and developed into one of the largest clubs in NSW, and now supports more than 43 local sporting clubs and over 6000 individuals who participate in sport, as well as hundreds of local charities and community groups.

With more than 70,000 members, Bankstown Sports Club is one of Sydney’s top 10 registered clubs, employing over 600 staff and offering a fun, exciting and safe entertainment destination in the southwest.

Some of the main features of Bankstown Sports Club include The Theatre, weekly entertainment, a wide variety of restaurants and bars including Basement Brewhouse, Monkey Mania play centre and Turbo Climb. The club also has several associated venues: Bankstown Sports Bowls, Birrong Sports, Baulkham Hills Sports Club, The Acres Club and Auburn Tennis Club.

Bankstown Sports is also a member of the Green Building Council of Australia (GBCA), which is the nation's authority on sustainable buildings, communities and cities. Their vision is to create healthy, resilient and positive places for people and the natural environment.

Bankstown Sports thanks the NSW Government for the recent official signing of the memorandum of understanding with ClubsNSW. This MOU provides the club with certainty over the next four years, to allow us to continue to invest in our community. As one of the largest employers in the Canterbury Bankstown Local Government area, it is important that we operated our business with certainty. We will continue to work with ClubsNSW and the Sydney University to develop world-leading responsible gaming measures, as well as maintain our contribution to ClubGRANTS, offer Emergency Support to the community in times of need and continue to be a significant employer in our local community. Also part of the Bankstown Sports precinct, Flinders Centre Bankstown provides contemporary, efficient and sustainable A-grade office space, with the added services and facilities of the immediately adjacent to the club. Flinders Centre Bankstown is targeting 5-Star Green Star & 5-Star NABERS energy ratings.
