Bankstown Sports is delighted to confirm Basement Brewhouse has picked up two awards at the recent Independent Beer Awards (Indies).
The Indies is the only beer competition in Australia that is dedicated to showcasing and celebrating the independent brewing industry, with more than 145 breweries from around the country taking part this year.
Basement Brewhouse entered it’s Australian-style Pale Ale and German-style Kolsch beers and came away with bronze in both categories. Winning brews are selected on the basis of sensory-ability, industry and peer recognition, knowledge of beer styles and the brewing process.
Basement Brewhouse Head Brewer Mark Neal says The Indies is a great way to benchmark our products against some of the best breweries in the business.
“There were over 1,000 entries in the competition this year and to be recognised alongside some of the more established breweries is a great achievement. We take great pride in the beers that we produce in our micro-brewery and we’re glad others in the industry enjoy them as much as we do”.
This fantastic result at The Indies follows the recent bronze for the Basement Brewhouse Australian-style Pale Ale at the 2019 Sydney Royal Beer & Cider Show.
