On Friday 13 September, the Brewhouse was filled with anticipation as spectators eagerly waited to view the unique sight of our competitive eating challenge.
Thirteen competitors took their seats just before 7pm as the event MC ran through the rules whilst the food was brought out to the contestants. This time, our challenge was vegan themed and included the Heavenly Vegan Burger featuring four Beyond Vegan Patties, crumbed portobello mushroom, facon, vegan cheddar, roasted vegan garlic aioli, crispy pickled onions, lettuce and guacamole on a vegan burger bun served with Vegetable Chips and a Chocolate Peanut Butter Shake.
The eating began at 7.15pm and within 9 minutes and 7 seconds, Mehran Rouzbehi, who had only purchased his ticket a few hours before the competition, had devoured everything to claim the $250 cash prize, as well as a Brewhouse t-shirt and cap.
The runner-up was Krushna Gorasia, who finished in 11 minutes and 42 seconds. He took home a Brewhouse Growler Gift Pack, a Brewhouse t-shirt and cap. Omar Salomon, who finished in third place, was seconds behind Omar, finishing in 11 minutes and 45 seconds.
