Carolyn Campbell has always had an interest in sport, whether it be from her days as a PE teacher, or her time out on the sporting field with her teammates, or behind the scenes as a committee member. Carolyn’s love of sport is broad, and she has quite an impressive resume of corporate and administrative roles in the sporting field. She is the current Secretary for the Norwest Strikers Hockey Club, CEO of Netball NSW, Chairperson of Sport NSW and in 2019, became the first female Director of Bankstown Sports.
On Wednesday 4 March, Carolyn was recognised at the inaugural Her Sport Her Way Awards gala dinner in Sydney. Her Sport Her Way is the NSW Government's vision for the future of women in sport. It features 29 initiatives that aim to increase participation, fund female-friendly facilities, maximise investment and increase the number of women in leadership.
The Trailblazer Award recognises women whose exceptional long-term efforts have advanced the opportunities for women and girls in sport. Carolyn was one of three recipients of the award on the night.
Carolyn said she was honoured to be recognised at the event.
“I am very honoured to have received this inaugural Her Sport Her Way Award. The opportunities and benefits sport has provided to me on so many levels drives me to enable and ensure that others have access and opportunity to enjoy the same”
Congratulations Carolyn, and thank you for continuing to inspire young women to succeed in sport.
