The Dandelion Support Network is a not-for-profit organisation that has been supporting vulnerable families and children since 2011. They accept donations of children’s toys and nursery items and give them to families who are referred to them by hospitals and support agencies.
In 2018, Dandelion supported 1,646 Sydney families by delivering over $956,000 in donations. This year, it is projected that Dandelion will support over 2,000 families.
Bankstown Sports was proud to support Dandelion by running a 4-week donation drive where staff members were invited to contribute pre-loved items such as toys, clothes and books.
Dandelion Partnership and Sustainability Officer, Dr Gabrielle Humphreys said she is very grateful for Bankstown Sports’ support.
“I would like to say thank you to all the Bankstown Sports staff members who got involved and donated items to Dandelion. Bankstown Sports’ help has allowed us to continue enhancing the great work of the community services industry in supporting vulnerable families, by being able to provide material goods to families.”
Dandelion Support Network was a successful recipient of ClubGRANTS funding this year and received $10,000 to assist with purchasing new cots, mattresses, car seats and strollers for families based in the Canterbury Bankstown area.
