The smooth sounds of Harrison Craig are coming to Bankstown Sports this August, when the baby-faced crooner brings his Piano and Song show to The Theatre. Inspired by legendary singers Elvis Presley and Frank Sinatra, the 21-year-old will perform songs from his first two albums including Unchained Melody, Can’t Help Falling in Love and How Sweet It Is, along with a few new tracks from his new album, which is currently in the making.
With a style, presence and charisma that is well beyond his years, The Voice – Series 2 winner, who has been touring around Australia and overseas, says it’s been a whirlwind three years.
“My life has changed in such a huge way since winning The Voice. I’ve completed two sold out national tours, I’ve come out with two records; one of which went platinum, the other went gold, which has been such a great milestone to reach”.
“The last year and a half, I’ve been travelling to the US and right around the country here. I’ve also been performing around Europe with Seal, which has been great, and I’ve managed to do a bit of writing along the way too”.
Harrison says he always wanted to be a singer and has loved performing since he was a child, and he attributes a lot of his passion and drive for music to his parents.
“I have always loved Elvis. The greats of the industry like Frank Sinatra, Mel Torme, Andy Williams, Nat King Cole and Dean Martin have been a huge part of my life. My parents would play their records remastered, and when you hear the music you can hear how much love and time went into those songs. They made great records, great sounds and great music and it really left a mark on me”.
Harrison says he’s been working on his Piano and Song show for quite a while and wanted to create an experience that would bring back memories for his audience, through the songs he sings. He admits, singing has always been a remedy to his stutter and takes him to a place of peace and contentment, and he wants his fans to feel the same.
Harrison is performing at Bankstown Sports on Saturday 6 August, 2016. For tickets - http://www.bankstownsports.com/harrisoncraig
