Bankstown Sports Club has made the finals of the 2016 Savour Australia Restaurant & Catering Hostplus Awards for Excellence – NSW! These awards are held annually to recognise and celebrate the commitment to the high standards of dining in Australia.
Our restaurants and bars have made the cut in six categories including Small Bar, Family Dining Restaurant, Asian Restaurant and Pizza Restaurant, with the winners announced at a special presentation evening at Luna Park on 12 September.
Our venues are up against some tough competition, with Lucky Cheng’s competing against the likes of China Doll in Woolloolooloo, Longrain in Surry Hills, Harry’s Singapore Chilli Crab in the CBD and Red Lantern on Riley in Darlinghurst in the best Asian restaurant category.
Greenfield Station Bistro is named in the best Family Dining category and is up against Penshurst Cottage Italian Seafood restaurant at Penshurst, Queens Park Shed at Queens Park and The Traditional Chip Shop in Bondi Junction.
Stuzzichino has made a long list of finalists in the best Italian Restaurant – Informal section, along with The Italian Kitchen in Miranda, Vino e Cucina in Paddington, Popolo Sydney in Rushcutter’s Bay and La Rosa The Strand in the CBD.
Pizzeria Bellucci also made the finals for best Pizza Restaurant, Platform One has made the Restaurant in a Casino/Pub/Club finals and Atrium Bar is in the Small Bar final.
In the coming weeks, a team of judges will visit each establishment anonymously to determine the overall winner for each category.
Bankstown Sports Club CEO Mark Condi, says this is a great result for the club.
“To have six of our restaurants and bars in the finals of this competition is a great achievement, and is proof of the passion and dedication to the club from our venue owners’ and managers’.
“There are some very well-known eateries in those finals categories and it just goes to show, Bankstown is up there with the best of the best”.
