Membership

How do I become a member?

Becoming a member of Bankstown Sports Club and its associated venues is easy. Simple complete the membership application form and hand it to Bankstown Sports main reception.

An application for can be picked up from club reception or download a copy here Membership Application Form Membership Application Form. Please note, you must present you application in person so that we can confirm your residential address and provide you with a personalised membership card on the spot.

You will receive a formal confirmation from the Board of Bankstown Sports informing you whether your application for membership has been approved. Only until receiving this confirmation will you be able to receive the benefits of full membership.

Can I send a membership application form by post?

Unfortunately, no. Whether you’re applying for membership at Bankstown Sports Club or any of our associated venues, you will need to have you membership processed in person. This is so we can verify your address details, and take your photo for your personalised membership card.

Please feel free to download a copy of the Membership Application Form Membership Application Form, complete it at home and bring it to the Bankstown Sports main reception the next time you visit.

Do I need to be a member to come into Bankstown Sports Club?

No, you don’t. If you live outside the 5km radius you can ‘sign in’ as a visitor when entering Bankstown Sports Club. If you live within the 5km radius, you must either be a member of Bankstown Sports Club or be ‘signed in’ by another member as their guest. In saying this, we recommended you become a member to enjoy the full member benefits.

Please note, you're not required to 'sign in' if attending a function within the Bankstown Sports Events Centre. If you intend to use Bankstown Sports facilities before or after this function, then you will need to sign in.

I’m a member of Bankstown Sports Club. Does that make me a member of Baulkham Hills Sports Club and Bankstown Sports Bowls Club?

Yes. Bankstown Sports, Baulkham Hills Sports Club and Bankstown Sports Bowls Club are all associated venues. Therefore being a member of one automatically makes you a member of all three. Find out more about Baulkham Hills Sports Club and Bankstown Sports Bowls here

What is the 5km radius?

Bankstown Sports Club is a Registered Club, and as such operates under the Registered Clubs Act. Part of this Act requires all patrons who reside within a designated 5km radius of Bankstown Sports Club, to become members if they wish to use club facilities.

How do I know if I’m inside the 5km radius?

See if you’re street address is within the designated 5km radius Banksotwn Sports 5km Radius Database Bankstown Sports 5km Radius Database.

I live inside the 5 km area, do I need to become a member?

In short, yes you will need to become a member. Everyone over the age of 18 years living within the 5 km radius is required to become a member to enter the club. There are however, various exceptions as follows:

1. You are a full member of another club that is registered under the Registered Clubs Act.
2. You are a guest of a Bankstown Sports full member and have been signed in by that member.
3. Attending a function at Bankstown Sports Events Centre and do not intend to use other club facilities.
4. You’re a registered guest of Bankstown Travelodge Hotel. 

I’m a member of another club, but live within the 5km radius, do I need to become a member of Bankstown Sports?

If you are a full member of any other club which is registered under the Registered Clubs Act and live within the 5km radius, you're able to access Bankstown Sports without becoming a member. In saying this, it’s recommended that you join to receive the full member benefits.

I’ve lost my card, can I get another one?

Yes. If you have misplaced your membership card or your card is damaged, you can seek a replacement from Bankstown Sports main reception. Please note, if you are repeatedly replacing a lost card, you may incur a small charge for future replacements.

I’ve just joined Bankstown Sports Club, when can I receive my birthday vouchers?

Birthday vouchers are a benefit of full membership, and as per most other full member benefits, you can only start to receive these after you have been formally approved by the Board in writing. This ‘formal approval’ takes place approximately 2 weeks after the date of applying. 

Please note that we cannot ‘back pay’ birthday vouchers. Only those members who have a birthday after membership is approved will receive vouchers.

When am I eligible to enter promotions?

Member only promotions are benefits of full membership, and as per most other full member benefits, you are only eligible after you have been formally approved by the Board in writing. Only then, will you be eligible to enter promotions and claim prizes.

I’m not receiving my ‘InTouch’ magazine, what can I do?

Bankstown Sports posts the bi-monthly ‘InTouch’ Magazine to over 50,000 members. If you are not receiving your magazine and would like to, please contact Bankstown Sports via our online enquiry form as it may be the case that your address and contact details are incorrect. If the issue still persists, we recommend contacting Australia Post Customer Service who will assist with your enquiries.

I do not wish to receive InTouch Magazine, what can I do?

If you are living at a residence where there are already members receiving InTouch OR you prefer to keep updated online, please let us know via online enquiry form.

About the Club

Can I bring my children to the club?

Of course. Bankstown Sports is a family club and children are welcome in most areas. Please note that persons under that age of 18 years are not permitted in the Calypso Lounge; allowed to approach any bar or; allowed in the Rainforest Lounge after 10.30pm.  

Children and persons under the age of 18 are not required to sign into the registry, however must be supervised by an adult AT ALL TIMES. 

Who can ride on the courtesy bus?

All Bankstown Sports members who are travelling within the 5km radius of the club are able to ride on the courtesy bus. Guests of the club are also allowed to travel if they are accompanied by a Bankstown Sports member. Please note that there are rules to riding on the Courtesy Bus more

I live outside the 5km radius, will the courtesy bus drop me home?

Unfortunately not. To ensure the courtesy bus runs as close as possible to the proposed timetable it can only drop off or pick up passengers within the 5km radius.

Where do the profits made by Bankstown Sports go?

Bankstown Sports is a ‘not-for-profit’ organisation and as such, the By laws for all register clubs do not permit operating for private gain.

Under this unique community-owned model, any surpluses after operating costs must go into the communities we serve or into the provision of facilities or services for our members. Bankstown Sports is an organisation based on the principle of mutuality and there is no other model like this anywhere else in the world.

Do I need to become a member to use the Bankstown Sports Car Wash?

No, anyone can use the Car Wash. ‘Club Carwash’ at Bankstown Sports is one of the many great services and facilities within the club where people can have their vehicle washed and detailed whilst relaxing in the comfort of the club. ‘Club Carwash’ is located on the green level of the Bankstown Sports car park more

Club Car Park

Do I need to be a member to park in the club car park?

No. Anyone who is visiting Bankstown Sports can use the car park. Please note that you’ll be required to validate your parking within the club. For those members who prefer to use the car park facilities and catch public transport to other venues for convenience, an early bird service is also available at a small fee. Find out more here

Do I have to pay for parking now?

No, unless you are parking and not using the club’s facilities. If you are parking at the club and using the facilities there will be no charge. However, if you are parking and taking the train to work, for example, you will have to pay an Early Bird Parking fee of $5 a day. Early Bird Parking applies for cars arriving at the club between 6am and 8.30am Monday to Friday. 

Do I always have to validate my ticket?

No. You only have to validate your ticket if you are arriving at the club between 6am and 8.30am Monday to Friday, and use club facilities. You don’t have to validate your ticket if you arrive at the club at any other time, including the entire weekend.

I’m a bingo player and like to arrive at the club before 8.30am weekdays. How can I validate my ticket?

The bingo caller can validate your ticket for you.

I’m attending an event at the club, such as a conference, and arriving between 6am – 8.30am (Monday to Friday), for example. Do I have to pay and how will I validate my ticket?

There is no charge for parking if you are attending an event. You will be able to validate your ticket at mobile ticket readers in the Events Centre.

I am coming into the club for breakfast, how do I validate my ticket?

If you are coming into the club between 6am and 8.30am, you can validate your ticket at the club’s reception in the main foyer.

What if I take a taxi or bus home from the club and leave my car in the car park?

You will need to validate your ticket. It will be made valid for a 24 hour period. If you remove your car within that period there will be no charge.

How do I pay for parking?

There are two pay stations installed on the upper level of the car park. Enter your ticket and pay the balance before returning to your car.

What if I park between 6am and 8.30am (Monday to Friday) but not in the Early Bird Parking nested area and do not patronise the club?

If you do not park in the clearly marked Early Bird Nested Area and do not patronise the club i.e. catch the train or leave the club’s premises, you will have to pay the maximum daily charge of $30 / per day.
