It is now two years since Bankstown Sports Club completed the first stage of major renovations at Baulkham Hills Sports. We are grateful to the local community who have adopted this hidden gem as their favourite venue. This is the first edition of the magazine for 2010, so we wish all our members and their families good health, happiness and prosperity for the year ahead. With economies around the world improving, I hope that all of us here in Australia, and Bankstown in particular, will have an easier year. Thanks to the support of our members and patrons, the club has traded reasonably well during the recent Christmas and New Year period.

As the calendar year comes to a close, it is a good time to reflect and also to get together with family to relax and enjoy Christmas.
The club has just held its 52nd Annual General Meeting and adopted our 51st annual accounts. It is encouraging to note that despite the strained economic conditions we succeeded in recording a modest surplus and we continue to trade quite well.

September 24, 2008 will go down, in the history of Bankstown Sports, as the day when we celebrated our 50th birthday and began six months of special events and promotions to mark this occasion. We decided to extend our celebrations over this period so that most of our members and patrons can get an opportunity to visit the club and participate in the special activities planned.
